The COMP Cams Camaro will be at SEMA this year, making the 40th Anniversary of the COMP Cams as a very special year. This will be the first time a car has been on display in the COMP booth in many years. The Camaro will also participate in Friday’s SEMA Ignite event, which is open to the public.
The COMP Camaro is on its second version. The first build was done in 1999 in homage to Scooter Brother’s original class-winning drag racer car and to participate in the blossoming Power Tour events. Parked in 2010, it re-emerged earlier this year after a rebuild by V8 Speed & Resto with 690 HP on tap, a full Heidt’s suspension and one-off wheels from CCW.
The car features an RHS block built by Butler LS and utilizing a wide range of COMP Performance Group products, including FAST EZ-LS ignition and XFI engine management, an LSXr intake with a 102mm Big Mouth throttle body, a TCI 6X transmission and an Outlaw Blackout shifter.
As with many projects, it couldn’t have been done without some very important sponsors. We’d like to thank each and every one of them for their help and support and encourage you to shop with them when you need quality parts and services.
