Memphis, TN – The first stop of the 2015 Engine Builder Duel schedule will be a special one, as the popular competition will make its lone appearance on this year’s Hot Rod Power Tour in Memphis – home of sponsor COMP Cams.
The COMP Cams Engine Builder Duel is one of the most exciting attractions at prestigious car shows and automotive events around the country. On the afternoon of Tuesday, June 9, the Duel will kick off its 2015 series at Memphis International Raceway. The competition pits two-person teams head-to-head to determine which one can assemble and fire a Small Block Chevy in the shortest amount of time. Engines must run for 30 seconds. Participants are armed with only their knowledge and may not receive help from anyone in the audience.
Each winner will receive a $250 COMP Cams product certificate, while each runner-up is awarded a $125 certificate from the valve train leader. The Engine Builder Duel is part of a big day in Memphis, which culminates with “Hot Rods on Beale” on historic Beale Street downtown.
Three more Engine Builder Duel competitions are scheduled for 2015, with daily competitions taking place at the Street Machine Nationals events in Du Quoin, Illinois, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Springfield, Missouri.
