CPG Returns To CARS Tour With Awards Program

COMP Cams and Quarter Master have once again signed on as CARS Tour partners, through 2017. Fuel Air Spark Technology (FAST) was added to the two-year agreement, as was a new program that should excite engine builders.

Beginning this year, COMP Cams will present awards to engine builders whose engines outperform the rest. The $100 Engine Builder of the Race award has been designated for the highest finishing engine builder at each race, while a $400 Engine Builder of the Year award will go, during the CARS Tour championship banquet, to the engine builder with the most tour wins.

COMP Cams will also be the “Official Valve Train Technology” of the CARS tour.

FAST, which added an ignition division with its purchase of Crane Cams last year, has the title of “Official Ignition System” of the tour. The company’s Oval Track Digital Multi-spark/CD Ignition Module and Race External-Core Coil will be the spec ignition system of the CARS Super Late Model Tour.

Quarter Master is locked in as the tour’s “Official Racing Driveline.”

The CARS Tour, which features Super Late Model and Late Model Stock divisions competing on the same night at the same track, begins April 2 with the CARS Tour 300 at Southern National Motorsports Park in Lucama, North Carolina.
