Default 1.250 valve springs required
hello
i drive an imca hobby stock
ive used comp cams for years in my motors and have always used the recommended valve springs.
as of this year the rules mandate that max 1.250 springs be used.
the cams i use are these
12-505-4
12-651-5
required valve springs 950-16
jrmotorsports sells a 1.25 vavle spring part number PRC-1200
the price of this set is descent wich is appealing since there is a 500$ claim rule on engines in this class
the specs on the prc-1200 is as follows
Seat Pressure 115#@1.800 Open Pressure 335 @ 1.250
135@1.750 360@ 1.200
Max RPM 6000
any recommendations please

You could use those spring if you wanted, assuming they can handle the lift. I would put them in at 1.750. We also make a 1.250 diameter race spring. It is the 941-16 spring. It is 130lbs on the seat and 358lbs open. Those springs go for $165.46 direct throug us.
