Day 1 of the Mopar Muscle Engine Challenge
Today kicked off the 4th Annual Mopar Muscle Engine Challenge, and this year the competition looks to be tougher than ever. We have some returning teams and some new ones, and we have a completely new set of rules that must be followed when building the engines.
Things started off bright and early at the COMP Cams R&D facility in Memphis, TN with August Cederstrand of Cederstrand Racing Engines in Brea, California. This is Cederstrand's third year as part of a competing team, so he's no stranger to the competition or to COMP Cams as his engine ran a COMP cam and lifters.
After Cederstrand's dyno pulls, lunch was served to the group and then Mike Johnson of JMS Racing Engines in El Monte, California was up for his turn on the dyno. This is Johnson's first time in the competition but he'll prove to be a tough competitor.
It was a great start to what is sure to be a week of fierce competition and rivalry but also a lot of fun. Stay tuned for more!
