Default 180 degree sound
Would a firing order of 1-5-7-3-6-8-4-2 for a S/B Chevy be totally out to lunch? What I'm trying to do is get the 180 degree exhaust sound without having to build a set of headers (Putting a 350 in a Fiero). What would be the major drawbacks?

That would be totally out to lunch. Not only would it cost you an arm and a leg to have it done, it would kill power and low end torque. The best way to get the sound would be to play with the overlap, not the firing order. The major drabacks would be the likelyhood of hot spots, the loss of power, the cost of the cam, just to mention a few.
