Memphis’ legendary Beal Street played host to this year’s 2008 Hot Rod Magazine Pump Gas Drags send off party at the Coyote Ugly bar Friday night. With cool cars lining the street and plenty of good times inside, the party, hosted by COMP Cams®, was the perfect way to start the “horsepower festival” set to begin Saturday, May 10, at the COMP Cams® headquarters in Memphis. After tech inspections Saturday morning, the contestants will prove their vehicle’s “roadworthiness” by driving on a prescribed route to the Memphis Motorsports Park for the competition which will culminate in the crowning of this year’s Pump Gas Drags Champion.
