As far as your 25/36 timing setting goes, if the motor is not high compression the timing settings should be ok. Can you tell me what the compression ratio is? Honestly it seems like the there may be another issue with the motor though if it wants that much timing. I noticed you said you are using a Street Demon Carb. This may not be the best carb to use with the low vacuum the Thumpr cam is producing. This is something you might call Demons tech line about as they will be the expert there. I apologize if you felt ignored but I did not see your question as it is not under the normal Comp Cams tech area. Fortunatley someone e-mailed me a link to it so I could get you an answer.

Default timing
i am in the 9:5:1 compression area. and yeah i did call demon and of course they said it will work just fine. i have found out tht i may need to get a different power valve to help with the low vac it is producing. i have it now at 20 initial and it seems the dead spot in carb is gone but i cannot drive it due to nasty snow storm now. i did put it in gear and applied break and slowly gave it gas to make it stumble and it seemed fine tht way. so who knows...ill report this to my mechanic when i drop the dizzy off again he had ordered a adjustable vac adv for the msd and we will discuss the bench tunning.
