sounds like to me that Comp Cams has lost interest in this project.... i understand that with the current economy that its tuff to make a decision on starting from scratch to make us a cam's for these motors. we have tried several times to get in touch with them and seam not to have any luck. i hate to say it, butt i think its time we start looking for another company thats willing to "talk" to us and has more ambition to help out the 4.7 Liter Chrysler/Dodge community.

I think the only other big cam company is Crane and they were bought out by/re-opened under S&S which I think is strictly a motorcycle performance shop. If Comp isn't willing to step up, I think we're s.o.l.

Default Interested in 4.7L dodge cams for my truck
If they were available I would give them a serious look. I haul a boat and am looking for some better torque and gas mileage when cruising. I already have headers, high flow muffler, and high flow air filter.

Thanks

Default COMP Cams
Guys,
You are not being ignored, unfortunately this is a very busy time of the year with the finalizing of new product introductions for the upcoming SEMA show. We would like nothing more than to sell you guys 4.7L camshafts (after all that's how we make our living), but first we must be able to dedicate the proper engineering resources to be 100% sure this is a feasible project from a design/core standpoint.

Again, this is a very busy time of the year for our engineering group as they finalize major new product introductions that have been in the works for months or even years - give us a chance to work through this process. Rest assured, we will continue to monitor your posts on this and other messages boards as we evaluate the market demand. Your patience is appreciated and we will provide more information as soon as it it available.

Thank you for the acknowledgement. Many of us where beginning to think we were chatting amongst ourselves in your forums.

Is there any chance we could get someone to answer some of the questions that have come up and continue to come up? We know you cant give out numbers, but there have been some general questions that one would think you guys may be able to answer. Are you the only one from comp who participates in the comp cams forums? I guess it would be nice to have some sort of representation from Comp Cams to answer questions and keep us posted.

Thanks again for posting.

The updated is appreciated. Although it sounds like it could be quite some time before we see any cams available. At least I've got no choice but to wait, don't have the cash for them yet and probably won't for almost a year. But on the plus side, I'm getting me some ported heads thanks to AirRam!

2005 Ram1500 4.7L 6spd manual, 4x4. like to have comp cams, look into cams for the 2wd racer types, and a cam that is stronger then the factory H.O. cam with a stronger TQ off idle, for off roading. these little 4.7L v8s have lots of room to make them better. has a smoother power curve over the hemi. and not everyone wants a hemi. I wanted a manual trans and dodge didnt offer it with a hemi. plus the 4.7L can be done to out do the hemi.

Glad to see this tread is still going strong...

Guys, dont give up. We need to continue to show there is a demand. Anyone who reads this needs to find a 4.7L forum and post a link to this tread on Comp Cams... We need to spread the word that comp is looking into it... Because they are. But lets be real, they are not going to invest into anything less then a true demand. So lets hit the forums and spread the word, Im sure if more 4.7L owners knew about this venture they would respond in support.

For those who have clicked this link in interest... MAKE A POST! You made it this far, and you found this link because your where interested in 4.7L cams... Please take that next step and let your voice be heard and your raised hand be counted.

I would like to thank everyone who has participated and showed their support.

I'm still waiting... quietly as I've already said my piece, but I continue to monitor this topic hoping something real comes of it... Comp Cams last response, honestly, was less than I was looking for. Surely they know this is their busy time of year, and they probably wouldn't have anything real to tell us... Yet we were given a time frame of when to expect an update. That update came late, and said nothing more than what they could have told us in the prior reply.....

So, I keep monitoring the topic, informing 4.7L drivers I meet around town of what we're doing, and wishing a update with some real information would come out. Will anyone be at this years SEMA show? You could personally talk with Comp Cams about this.... Hand out some fliers to people at the show with links to this topic ETC
