Default 67 289 lobe/lifter alignment ?
Putting in new 268h and noticed the lobe centerline don't match the lifter centerline. Is it suppose to offset. I am reading a total =/- variance of .5". Anything would be helpful.

Do you mean max lift? I don't completely understand what you are asking here.

What I am looking at is the total front and rear offset. If I put lobe one at center then the even lobes set back .5", Someone told me the lobes and lifter do not center on each other to cause spin on a lifter.

That is absolutely correct. As long as you can't see the edge of the next lobe in the bore you are looking in, it will be fine. They are offset to cause lifter spin and to keep the cam from walking out the front of the engine.
