Default BBC Oiling at front
I have had both a roller tip rocker and a stamped steel rocker turn blue in the #1 intake and the #2 intake positions. These are opposite sides of the block. I am running a Melling HV oil pump and generate 70psi at idle when cold and 34-40psi at idle when warm. I would think this is plenty to push throught the oil galley to the front of the block?

I have changed lifters and pushrods along with rockers and the next set ends up blue indicating too much heat. The oiling is visually about 1/2 on these 2 cylinders vs the rest. Any ideas on this issue.

Thanks
JP

I would check for any obstruction in the oiling passage to those two rockers and insure that the push rod hole and the hole in the rocker arm are lining up well enough to allow oil to pass through. Also maybe if the lifter bore was a little loose on the lifter it could allow more oil to flow around the lifter than into it but I am stretching here a bit.
