Butler Performance Makes Pontiac History

The Butler crew took their Tempest out to Norwalk last weekend to run 1/4 mile with it for the first time. They made their pass in the middle of the day so the driver (Rodney Butler) had to pedal it quite a bit. Despite the mid-day conditions, the results were record breaking....

First full 1/4 mile pass with the car, went 6.42 @ 222 mph. Fourth pass on the car was 6.27 @ 228! Rodney also won the heads-up race with that lightening quick, last pass. Race weight is 2720 lbs. That's the quickest and fastest Traditional Pontiac powered drag car of any kind in history (including Funny Cars and Dragsters).

The car is equipped with COMP Cams valve train and a FAST XFI engine management system.
