Arrow Which cam to chose, hlep me decide
Hello,
I would like you ask you what cam you recommend for my applicatin?

Thank's CamQuest I have two favourites,N+L79H and XE274H. They are very similar and I don't know which one should be better for my 79 Caprice with 383 stroker. Can you help me with decision, please? It should be street driveable and also kick ass during 1/4 mile drag races twice per year here in Czech Republic.

Engine has 600cfm Edelbrock carb on Edel performer manifold, 67cc Dart SS Heads, stainless headers...

I don't want to change valve springs, but will buy ROCKER ARMS + PUSHRODS and small SK kit (cam, lifters, chain)

Thank you very much
BR

Without changing the springs, I would have to recommend going with the N+L79H. It has the less agressive lobes and should work with the stock springs. I really think the XE274H would make more power, but it REQUIRES the valve spring upgrade.

When in doubt, use more nitrous!

I have found something more about DART SS heads:

New .550 max. lift Z-28 valve springs, new steel retainers, hardened locks, and umbrella valve seals.

And I am using B&M 20404
GM Tork Master 2400 converter, but there is not big difference between OEM and this one.

But I think I will go with Nostalgia, just want to be on safe side...

Thank you

Roman
