Default Cam help
Ok heres my issue i had to do some head work a recent engine purchase i also putin a geardrive and notice the snout of the cam has comp cams 280s so i install everything and go to adjust the valves and they are to tight so i tryed again and still too tight i jiggle the pushrod till it dosent move take out all the slop then give a 1/4 turn but still too tight but it has some compression i had some old valve covers and cut out the center and start the car and try to adjust while running but as soon as i get the clacking down and give a quarter turn the motor runs like crap and the vaccum is eratic and at 5hg so i think i must be doing something wrong or this might not be a hydralic cam. its in a sbc help me if you can i really dont want to takethe motor apart unless theres no other way. Thanks

The 280S is a solid camshaft and should be lashed at .022/.022. So basically you were just holding the valves open when you gave it the 1/4 turn.

double check to make sure you had it on 1 top and not no.6 during adjustment sequence.
