Default Cam / Tune question
I might be replacing the cam in my car depending on how it looks but I am fairly sure that a lifter failure caused me to wipe a lobe.

Car is a 2002 Z06 with an LS6 engine.

Right now the cam I've got is a TSP 233/239, 595/603 on a 112 LSA and I like it.

I can save a worthwhile amount of $ and get my hands on a CompCams XER 281 HR locally. Specs on this cam are 232/234, 595/598 also 112 LSA.

It seems to me that the specs are close enough that there wont be a noticable difference in performance but will the small differences between the two cams require that I have the car retuned ?

Other mods are : TSP 2.5.5 heads, Patriot Gold springs, longt tube headers - X Pipe- no cats-stock mufflers, BBK intake, ported T.B., Vararam. Previous owner had the car tuned when he did the mods.

Thanks.

B

The two cams are very similar and should maintain similar performance levels. I do not see any real reason to have to retune the computer but I would discuss this with your chosen tuner as they will know best.

Thanks for the reply ! On your advice I called my Tuner. He said that WOT settings will most likely be very close. P/T settings will probably be where he spends the most time dialing it in.
