Default Car not moving TCI trans/converter
I have a TCI super street fighter 727 trans and converter. The converter was filled with 2 quarts of fluid, and about a gallon in the trans last summer. We moved the car about 100 feet in the shop. This spring there was nothing. I was told the correct amount of fluid and corrected it. I know the trans is shifting as I can only push the car in neutral. When the engine is running I have nothing. I am hoping this is a novice mistake Any advice? Thanks, Rob

Default Car not moving
Hi Rob,
When you spoke of moving the car 100'...did it move under its own power with the transmission pulling the car? If so, then make sure the trans fluid didn't leak below the proper level. The TF transmission needs to be checked with the car level and in Neutral.
Does the level of the fluid drop on the dipstick when you start it and put it in neutral?

Default Still trying
Dennis & Chris, I removed both trans lines at the radiator, started the car, out it in drive, and not a drop came out. I am going to drain the fluid and start with the correct amount. In looking at the Chrysler Factory manual, it stats bad pump. Is there any way that air is in the system? I believe the reason it moved around the shop( about 100 feet), is that it was running off fluid we primed the converter with. I can't see a reason the pump would be bad as I haven’t driven the car, and it is clear that it was tested at your factory. Any further help be great. Thanks, Rob S

It can only be two problems at this point. Either it's very low of fluid or the transmission pump is broken.

Default I just wanna go cruzin
I know it is not low on fluid..It has too much right now. .. I think I will have to be dropping a trans. Any idea what could have caused this. I have the sheet and it was tested and passed at TCI. Are the pumps fragile? Any input would be great, as I don't want a repeat.

Hi Dart Dad, what was the end result of your issue with the tranny not working? I had a pump go on me and the tranny was practically brand new, I bought it new, and I have been having probs ever since. Mine has been rebuilt 2x's already, and I think it is heading to a 3rd, unless I am able to get the temps down and get it to shift better...

Someone mentioned a TV cable not seating properly in the Tranny housing or the TV Cable not seating properly in the Cable Housing, in either case, someone here had a solution on what he did to solve his problem....

Good Luck Dart Dad. How's the tranny holding up?
