Salem, IN (January 10, 2010) – Champion Racing Association Officials released their tentative CRA Super Series schedule for the upcoming 2010 season during their Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet held Saturday night in Shelbyville, Indiana. The 2010 season will be the fourteenth season for the Indiana based touring asphalt template late model series sanctioned by Champion Racing Association. The current tentative schedule consists of nineteen total events, thirteen CRA Super Series point’s events, as well as six non-points events including the Speedfest 2010 event at Lanier National Speedway, The Rattler at South Alabama Speedway, two special events at Gresham Motorsports Park, the North/South Shootout at Concord Speedway, and the previously announced Rowdy Returns 251 at Berlin Raceway.
The CRA Super Series will open its 2010 season in just a few weeks with the 6th addition of SpeedFest at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, Georgia. The first four SpeedFest events were held at the now closed USA International Speedway in Lakeland, Florida before the event was moved to Lanier last season were NASCAR’s Kyle Busch came away with the win. The event will include the CRA Super Series cars in a 250-lap event with a scheduled break at lap 125. The Opp, Alabama track is making it possible for one Super Late Model driver to take home over $30,000 in cash and prizes if 50 Super Late Models are part of racing that weekend. The “Rattler 250” has a long history of great drivers and great winners, with a past champions list that includes Dave Mader, Ronnie Sanders (only 3 time winner), the late Charlie Bradberry, Jason Hogan, Grant Enfinger and two time winner and reigning champion Augie Grill.

That March event will be the first of two 125 lap events the series will sanction at the Jefferson, Georgia track, the other will be on July 17th. The winner of each event will get a guaranteed starting position in the World Crown 300 in November at Gresham.

The series will then race into to the Buckeye state with an August 13th 100 lap event on the half-mile at Toledo Speedway. This will be the 12th time the series has visited the high profile Toledo track. With his win last season, Scott Hantz has tied Canadian racing legend Junior Hanley with the most victories at Toledo with two a piece.
The series will then stay in the Buckeye state with a return to Columbus Motor Speedway on Saturday, August 28th for a 125 lap event. The series last competed at the highly competitive quarter mile in 2007 when Columbus native Robbie Pyle got the win. This will be the seventh series event at Columbus, no one has scored more than one series victory to date there. The six winners of the series events held at Columbus include Pyle, Hantz, Hanley, Fred Campbell, Jack Landis and Bobby Parsley.

The series is currently working on a possible event for October 2nd and 3rd, details of that event will be announced at a future date.
On Sunday, October 17th the CRA Super Series will return to Winchester Speedway for the 39th Annual Winchester 400. The event was brought back in 2006 and has continued to attract a top-notch group of racers from all over the country to compete against the best from the CRA Super Series in this prestigious event at the historic Winchester Speedway, including last year’s winner Kyle Busch and 2008 winner David Stremme. The event will be the season point’s championship event for the CRA Super Series.
The series will once again be a part of the North/South Shootout at Concord Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina on November 5th and 6th. The series will have a special 125 lap non-points event with this huge traditional weekend of racing. Last season’s event saw veteran Jeff Fultz get an emotional victory and saw 2009 series Champion Johnny VanDoorn run a strong second in his first ever race at the tricky tri-oval.
