Hello,
Is this error code 1 or error code 2? I am assuming that it is probably Error code 2, because that is a crank sync position error code. So, something may have happened to the sensor, either the reference angle has moved, or actually something has damaged the sensor. If you have a crank trigger, this is what i would do first. I would reset the crank reference angle on the #1 cylinder. If you dont know how to do this, simply turn the engine over by hand and put the timing pointer to 50 degrees BTDC (before top dead center) on the #1 cylinder. If the sensor is in the middle of the pickup, then the sensor is lined up correctly and the sensor may be bad. If it is not in the center, try to recenter the magnet in the middle of the sensor. If you have our dual sync distributor, basically go back and go thru the steps to recalibrate the pickup in the distributor.
thanks,
John Williams
