For Immediate Release

April 3rd, 2012

Memphis, Tennessee - With three rounds in the books, the COMP Cams® Interstate Sprint Car Cup presented by Dixon Road U-Pull-It point standings are still being led by Cody Gardner, but Jan Howard is now just four points out of the lead. Series wins thus far have been claimed by Gary Taylor, Zach Pringle and Tim Crawley. The next points event will be held on Saturday, April 21st at I-30 Speedway. For more information, please visit www.I-30Speedway.com.

The minimum payout for the final COMP Cams® Interstate Cup in 2012 will be the following: 1)$2,500 2)$1,600 3)$1,100 4)$800 5)$700 6)$600 7)$500 8)$400; and as more sponsors are secured the payout may be increased.

The COMP Cams® Interstate Cup was created in 2011 to reward drivers for competing at both I-30 Speedway and Riverside International Speedway. A.G. Rains claimed the initial title. For 2012 the tracks have once again coordinated their schedules to not run Winged 360c.i. Sprint Cars on the same night, and each weekly racing series points event at each track will count toward a driver's point total in the program. A driver will be allowed to miss one event at each track and still be eligible for point money and prizes, but there will be no drop races. Points acquired in all races will count toward the final total.

COMP Cams® has also posted the following contingency prizes for the top five:

1st - $1000 COMP Cams® Gift Certificate PLUS Trophy Cup
2nd - $750 COMP Cams® Gift Certificate
3rd - $500 COMP Cams® Gift Certificate
4th - $250 COMP Cams® Gift Certificate
5th - $125 COMP Cams® Gift Certificate

In addition to money and contingencies, the program will reward provisionals. The driver highest in the points program who doesn't qualify for the 5th Annual Ralph Henson Memorial on Saturday, September 29th at I-30 Speedway will get a provisional starting spot in that night’s main event. Similarly, the driver highest in points (who didn't use a provisional at the Ralph Henson Memorial), who doesn't qualify for the Fall Nationals at Riverside International Speedway on Saturday, October 6th will get a provisional starting spot for the A-Main.

Race fans can also donate money to the points fund. For a $100 donation, a race fan can be the title sponsor on a Sprint Car Weekly Racing Series event at either track, and 100% of that money will go into the points fund.
