Default COMP Cams® Dirt Late Model Customers Sit Atop National Points
COMP Cams® customers, Scott Bloomquist (LODLMS) and Brady Smith (WOOLMS), lead the national point standings in their respective Dirt Late Model sanctioning bodies

It may only be March, and there may still be several months of events remaining on the dusty trail for the top Dirt Late Model tours, but two COMP Cams® customers have already established themselves as the front runners in the nation’s top sanctioning bodies.

After a superb Speedweeks performance, Scott Bloomquist leads the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series (LODLMS) point standings. Behind the wheel of his #0 Bloomquist race car with Jay Dickens power, Scott has been burning up the track with a total of three wins and no worse than a sixth place finish thus far in this season of LODLMS action.

While Bloomquist has been setting the pace in LODLMS action, several other COMP Cams® customers are in hot pursuit of the points leader. Don O’Neal currently has his #71, Jay Dickens powered, Dirt Late Model sitting second in the standings on the heels of a $12,000 win at East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, Florida). Other COMP Cams® customers in the thick of the points battle include Ray Cook (Race Engine Design), Dale McDowell (Earnhardt/Childress Engines), Jimmy Owens (Cornett Engines), Dennis Erb Jr. (Vic Hill Engines), and Steve Casebolt (Cornett Engines).

At the top of the World of Outlaws Dirt Late Model tour standings sits Brady Smith, from Solon Springs, Wisconsin. After battling stellar fields of over 65 entries a night, Smith emerged from the Speedweeks’ events at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) as the man to beat for the coveted WOOLMS title in his #2 Bloomquist Race Car (Vic Hill powered Dirt Late Model). Smith served notice to his fellow competitors that he means business in 2010 by finishing third in the WOOLMS opener, before charging to a dominant, $10,000 win in the second event of the season.

Much like Bloomquist with the LODLMS, Smith will be a marked man in every event this year, as he faces a strong contingent of COMP Cams® customers hungry for the WOOLMS title. Smith’s adversaries will be led by fellow COMP Cams® customer, Josh Richards, who was the 2009 WOOLMS Champion in his #1 Rocket Chassis/Cornett Racing Engine entry. Other COMP Cams® competitors hungry for the title include Tim McCreadie (Pro Power Engine), Rick Eckert (Jay Dickens Engine), Austin Hubbard (Cornett Race Engine), Steve Francis (Custom Race Engine), and Darrell Lanigan (Cornett Race Engine).
