COMP Cams to Sponsor the DART Show-Me 100 Past Champions Race Presented by Quarter Master and the Special Engine Builders Appreciation Luncheon During the Show-Me 100 Weekend


CORONA, CA (May 19, 2010) -The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is pleased to announce COMP Cams will sponsor an exciting "Past Champions" race within the DART Show-Me 100 Weekend on May 28-29th. The COMP Cams Past Champions Race presented by Quarter Master will take place on Friday night May 28th at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland MO, as part of the big DART Show-Me 100 weekend. This special event will take place after the LM heat races and will be a 12-lap shootout for all DART Show-Me 100 past champions and will pay the winner $1,000.

Eligible drivers for this exciting 12-lap shootout include Billy Moyer, event winner in '93,'94, and '96, Scott Bloomquist, event winner in '95,'03,'04,'05,and '08, Rick Aukland, event winner in '97, Freddy Smith, event winner in '98 and '01, Terry Phillips, event winner in '99, Ray Cook, event winner in 2000, Wendell Wallace, event winner in '02, '06, and '07, and last years '09 champion Brian Birkhofer. All eight of these past DART Show-Me champion drivers are considered some of the best dirt late model drivers in the country. This shootout style event should be exciting and entertaining with nothing but cash and bragging rights on the line to see which driver can claim the COMP Cams Past Champions Race presented by Quarter Master.

"We are excited about this special past champion's race during the DART Show-Me 100 weekend. COMP Cams has stepped up to give these past champions some additional bonus monies to race for during the big weekend of events at the Lucas Oil Speedway on May 28-29th. The format will be exciting as we have a special twist to the event that should make it really interesting, stated Ritchie Lewis, series director.

In addition to this special event COMP Cams will host a special Engine Builders Appreciation luncheon at the Lucas Oil Speedway track on Saturday May 29th at 12 noon. This luncheon will be open to any engine builder that attends the event on May 28-29th. In appreciation to the engine builders that support super dirt late model racing COMP Cams has put together this opportunity for the engine builders that attend the event to receive two VIP passes for the weekend, a special free lunch provided by the racetrack and several opportunities to receive some COMP Cams product certificates by attending the luncheon.

COMP Cams, Quarter Master and DART representatives will be in attendance at the luncheon to provide literature of their latest technology and products on the market and answer any questions by the engine builders
