Default converter help
Ok i got a 3000 stall converter with a tci C4 trans that I just bought from a firend of a friend. Will this be too much for my stock 351c with headers and a 650 dp?(69 mustang) Does this mean the wheels will not turn until I hit 3000 rpm?

Im a little bit confused on the subject

The car will start to move almost as soon as you move the accelerator. In a lower horsepower application the stall will be less. You never see the real stall until you floor it from a dead stop. The tach should then jump up to the stall and the car move. It all happens pretty quick. You are probably looking at around the 2500 range on the stall.

I would use it. The factory converters are not hi enough stall to begin with so it will perform circles around the factory unit even with the stock application.

Just out of curiosity while were at it. Is there a way to tell what level of transmission I have? Its a TCI C4.... I bought it from someone and was just curious as to what exactly was done to it. Are there like numbers on the trans that can tell me what level your company built it to?

Look on the top of it back by the tail housing. There should be some numbers stamped back there. Get those and we can tell you what it is. The converter has a part number stamped on the trans side as well.

Yep. It's a Streetfighter C-4 Pan filled. It was built January 2004.
