Default Critical Drivetrain Upgrades Anybody Can Do
TCI® Automotive has a full line of transmission accessories which includes a wide range of premium transmission pans, temperature gauges, pressure gauges and transmission coolers. TCI® accessories are available for an enormous number of applications for Ford, Chevrolet and Chrysler models.

Transmission Fluid Pans

Within the family of aftermarket fluid pans, TCI® has a wide variety of transmission pans that includes Cast Aluminum Deep, Polished, Die-Cast Aluminum, Chrome Plated, Powerglide O-Ring Transmission Pans and Max-Cool™ Aluminum Deep Pans.

Cast Aluminum Deep Pans

The TCI® cast aluminum deep pan is designed with cooling fins to dissipate heat faster and provide additional strength and rigidity to the transmission case. No modifications are necessary to the stock dipstick and the pan includes magnetic drain plug, fluid pickup extension (where applicable), pan gasket and new stainless-steel installation hardware.

Chrome Plated Pans

These attractive, stock-depth TCI® replacement pans can spice up the undercarriage of any vehicle. The included drain plug makes transmission service a snap. Why mess around with a 30 year old rusty pan with a warped, leaky gasket flange when you can easily bolt on one of these economical beauties?

Powerglide O-Ring Transmission Pan

The TCI® Powerglide O-Ring Transmission Pan features an industry-exclusive o-ring seal that makes it easy to achieve a leak-free seal every time, regardless of how flat or uneven the gasket mating surface may be. The durable, 1-piece o-ring can be reused several times, saving the time, hassle and cost of replacing a gasket every time you need to pull the pan on your Powerglide.

The TCI® Powerglide O-Ring Transmission Pan also features the TCI® proprietary metallic-gray HDT (Heat Dissipating Technology™) Coating™, which has been proven to reduce transmission operating temperatures by a wide margin over competitor’s coatings. Other features that help reduce operating temperature and extend transmission life are cooling fins and an additional 2 quarts of fluid capacity over the stock Powerglide pan. Constructed from extra-rigid sand-cast aluminum, the TCI® Powerglide O-Ring Transmission Pan will also add structural rigidity to your Powerglide case, further strengthening it against the severe loads of a high-horsepower drag racing engine. Included with the transmission pan are a reusable o-ring seal, transmission filter and filter spacer, and stainless steel mounting hardware.

Polished, Die-Cast Aluminum Pans

A beautiful addition to a Street Rod or show car, these TCI® die-cast pans are polished to a high luster. Considering ground clearance is a concern with these cars, these pans are made to the stock depth. A drain plug makes fluid and filter changes much more pleasant. Kit comes with all necessary gaskets, filters and stainless-steel installation hardware.

Max-Cool™ Aluminum Deep Pan

The newest line of high quality aluminum deep pans from TCI® turns the ordinary into the extraordinary. The larger fluid supply and black powder-coated finish increase the heat dissipation, therefore dropping internal transmission temperature 20 to 30 degrees and increasing transmission life. Additionally, these "trick" looking pans are built from aircraft-quality aluminum and feature added cooling fins to further reduce operating temperatures.

Every TCI® premium transmission pan comes ready to install with everything you need, including new stainless-steel installation hardware and Allen wrenches. The included magnetic drain plug helps keep loose metal from being circulated through the transmission and the unique o-ringed (where applicable) sealing surface eliminates leaks.

Temperature Gauges

Knowing the condition of your vehicle’s high performance automatic transmission is important in helping ensure that it delivers the highest performance – both short and long term. There is no better indicator of transmission status than the temperature of the fluid, which ensures consistent race car performance and daily street driver component durability. The TCI® Transmission Temperature Gauges are complete gauge-to-sender kits that allow you to safely and effectively monitor the temperature of the transmission fluid.

TCI® has a line of temperature gauges that provide the solution of transmission oil temperature monitoring. The TCI® Transmission Temperature Gauges feature either silver or black faces and have light covers in both red and green to give you the option of clear, red or green backlighting. The black or silver-dialed gauges are each available in either 2 5/8-inch or 2 1/16-inch diameter to fit in or under almost any dashboard application. Best of all, these kits feature easy-to-install sensor adapters and work with either aluminum or steel transmission pans.

Pressure Gauges

Because Automatic transmissions are sophisticated pieces of equipment, knowing the exact line pressure of your racing or street transmission is critical to ensuring proper performance and long life. The TCI® Transmission Pressure Gauges are complete gauge-to-sender kits that allow you to safely and effectively monitor the internal pressure of the transmission.

Like the temperature gauges, the TCI® pressure gauges are available with either silver or black faces and come with both red and green light covers so that you can have clear, red or green backlighting. These gauges feature a 0 to 300psi range and are 2 5/8-inch diameter in size to fit in or under nearly any dashboard application. Each kit features easy-to-install sensor adapters and is compatible with any automatic transmission.

Performance Transmission Coolers

TCI® high tech racing coolers are designed specifically for racing. Because our tube and fin design is superior, you can expect our coolers to meet your needs. Constructed entirely from aluminum, these coolers are powder-coated black for an aggressive race look and have #6 AN fittings for connection to either steel braided or high pressure lines. They are pressure checked to 300 psi.

Your car and your safety are too important to trust hose clamps when a typical performance automatic transmission cooling system operates at over 100 psi. TCI® performance transmission coolers are also a great choice for street and towing applications. For the ultimate heat control, a #827000 10-inch fan can be mounted directly to a #823800 cooler. All performance coolers include a #821500 quick mount kit.

Heat has always been the #1 cause of premature automatic transmission failure. A new TCI® Max-Cool™ Transmission Cooler is the most effective way to keep your transmission cool and extend its durability and performance. Available in four different sizes, the new TCI® Max-Cool™ Transmission Coolers utilize a special “plate and fin” design, which reduces transmission temperatures by 33% over tube-style transmission coolers.

The new TCI® Max-Cool™ Transmission Coolers feature pre-drilled mounting plates and 3/8- inch push-on fittings to make installation easy and greatly improve durability. Available in sizes from 4-inches x 11-inches x 3/4-inch through 9 7/8-inches x 11-inches x 3/4-inch, TCI® Max-Cool™ Transmission Coolers are the most compact, space efficient coolers you can buy today.

Installation

If you are the do-it-yourself installation type, you will enjoy installing any of the TCI® transmission accessories because each one is a straight forward process and depending upon the level of mechanical ability, can be accomplished in a reasonable length of time.

To show how easy these upgrades can be we asked Mike Hoppstader from Murphy, NC to install a TCI® Max-Cool™ extra capacity fluid pan and a TCI® temperature gauge in his 2001 Ford Lightning truck.

An extra capacity oil pan and temperature gauge will be installed in the truck.

Installation of a new transmission pan begins with removing the old
pan. Make sure the fluid is drained before unbolting the old pan.

With the old pan removed, the new fluid pan filter is put into place.

Next the O-ring gasket is pressed into place. This excellent feature
of TCI® transmission fluid pans provides the very best seal and is
a very long term seal.

Next the fluid pan is put in place and the bolts are put in place. Every
TCI® fluid pan comes with everything you need to put the pan in
place, including an Allen wrench set.

Now the bolts are torqued in place. Check the directions for torque values.

The final step in transmission fluid pan installation is to make sure the
new pan has the proper amount of fluid. Check the instructions for the
proper amount of fluid is installed.

Placing a temperature gauge requires some thought as to where it
will be mounted in the vehicle. In the case of this F150 Ford
Lightning the gauge will be mounted just to the right of the steering
column. The panel where the gauge will be mounted is simply
snapped out and moved to the work bench to install the gauge.

With the aid of a circular drill bit, the correct size hole is drilled
in the panel.

After drilling, the gauge is placed in the opening and the back light
is put into the back of the gauge. Now the panel is replaced in the
truck and the wiring is connected (wiring instructions are included).

As you can see for the do-it-yourselfer, TCI® transmission accessory installation is a breeze, and with the addition of quality products like those shown here, you will end up with a transmission that performs at peak and lasts longer.
