Default EZ-EFI very rich
I am in the very beginning of setting the ez-efi
When the car starts the idle a/f ratio shows 9.1-1 on the Handheld TAF meter is way to the right of the display and AF meter is way to the left Like I said I am in the very beginning of the set up and would like a few pointers I set fuel pressure at 60 psi with vacuum tube off regulator and 60 psi during wizard reconnected vacuum line. Iac has not been fully set yet so hopefully this will lean things out
My Engine is a 505 cui b/b chev making 614hp so the 60 psi should be ok
Thanks Craig

I'm thinking that 60 psi is a little high, maybe try a lower fuel psi setting, like 45-50 and see what happens.

Socal in another post that I have said to set it at 60psi
The engine still runs extremely rich afr 9.3-1 while idleing and reving up afr #'s do not change much at all while running it might go from 9.3 to 9.2 and back to 9.3 and then 9.4 and so on
I now have the SE coming on and I go look at the error codes and it comes up with 02 error.
It does not like to idle very well either I set the throttle blades to there max to see if that would help the idle and it does not I still need to hold the throttle with my foot to keep it running I have set tps every time I have moved the throttle blades One question that i have is every time i go through the wizard it defaults to 43psi and i have to up the pressure to 60psi. When i go through the wizard it remembers all of my other inputs just not the fuel pressure is this normal? After the engine starts it will run for about a minute and than go in to the SE mode so I am not able to get into the AL I did go into the live data with the engine not running just to look at things and saw that the AF was 9.3 in screen 3 is this normal? On the first sceen my TAF is way to the right and showing about 30 bars and my AF is way left and only showing 4 bars One other thing I noticed is after I reset the ECU which clears the SE 02 code and go into the live data and wait for about 30 seconds the SE light will come back on before I get a chance to start the engine. I need Help

I have read on this board that its normal for it to default back to the 43 PSI...
I would also make sure you don't have any exhaust leaks as this can make it think your lean and try to richen it up...

You said this is at the beginning of your setup. Have you warmed the engine up all the way and had the EZ EFI go into AL mode? If it has not then that is the first thing you should do.

Turbonova,
Yes the engine has warmed up
The problem that I am having is once the SE is checked on the display (02 error code) it will not go into the AL mode The SE (system error) will go into the limp mode and prevent it from going into AL mode

David H,
How could the ECU think it is lean when the 02 sensor is picking up that the AFR is 9.3-1
at the sensor which would then make the ECU start leaning things out which it does not do. The other posts that I read with the exhaust leak issue would make the 02 sensor think it was lean and The ECU would richen things up. My 02 sensor is reading 9.3-1 all the time but the ECU never leans things out.
Thanks for the input on the defaulting back to 43psi

So the unit is displaying an o2 error which will stop the Auto learn function kicking in. You gotta fix this before you can make any more progress. Engine will be fuelled based on your initial settings and will operate in open loop until the AL system can modify the map. Either wiring to o2 sensor wrong/broken or dodgy o2 sensor.

Webby,
The wiring should be fine I took the wiring harness out of the EZ-EFI box and plugged everything in to all the sensors the o2 sensor wires only plug in one way I routed the o2 wires away from the headers and exhaust and they are fine must be a bad o2 sensor How do you test for a bad o2 sensor ?

We've rarley seen bad O2 sensors. It is always possible, but rare. My guess would be you have noise that is causing the O2 error. Make sure your grounds/Power go directly to the battery terminals and nothing is spliced into them or they are not spliced into anything else. Make sure to run your O2 wire away from any spark plug wires or ignition wires/coil wires. This is what usually causes the system to through an O2 code. Also make sure your battery voltage is up to par. If the sensor doesn't get enough current to heat the sensor up in a set amount of time, it times out and throws an O2 to error, also.
