Default F.A.S.T. capable of running a 1200hp Mod engine?
Is the FAST XFI system capable of running a coil-on-plug 1200 twin-turbo Modular? I was browsing around the website and saw the ignition box that's available, but will the ignition/ fuel injection box work properly on an application like that?

Thanks!

Jason,
The XFI / XIM fuel / ignition management system will work with your application. The only thing that will cause issues would be the factory Ford coils. We have found that under boost and high cylinder pressures, the stock Ford coils will not control spark properly. To solve this issue, we recommend that you use the L92 GM truck coils (FAST p/n 30256-8) Also, you will need to order the XIM Ignition Harness p/n 301313A, however, this part number is not active at this time. We are working on getting the coil harness in stock, but if you need to proceed with this application, we can offer you a diagram for the 301313 harness to convert it to the GM coils.

Thanks,
John Williams

Thanks for the answer, John. I haven't decided which direction I'm going yet, but you've presented me with another option.

So this is both an engine management system and an ignition system (with those part numbers you provided), correct?

And another question I have - I already have a Racepak dash that has connections built into it to plug right into a BigStuff3. It's Racepak PN 250-DS-UDXSR. Will that interface with the F.A.S.T. system without an issue?

Hi Jason,

The RacePak dash should interface to our XFI/XIM through the CAN network. However, I am unsure a couple of things. I will get back with you with some definate answers.

The XFI/XIM will control all of the engines functions, both controlling fuel mangement and Ignition timing.

Below are the part numbers and descriptions that you will need for your application.

301000 - Standard XFI ECU
301100 - XFI Main Wiring Harness
301203 - XFI Injector Harness for 4.6L engine
301313A - XIM w/ harness for LSX coils (however, this part number is not valid at this time) if you need it at this time, you will need to specify part number 301313 (you will need to modify the wiring harness to adapt to the LSX coils, we can supply you with the wiring schematics and connectors)
30256-8 - XFI LSX coils (set of 8)

thanks,
John Williams

Jason,
The RacePak dash will interface with the XFI, RacePak has a specific V-Net harness that will plug directly into pins 9 and 10 on the XFI's blue (C) main wiring connector. The RacePak part number for their harness is 230-VMEFIXFI.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

thanks,
John Williams

That is great news, and should be made public, since that is a selling point for the BS3.
