| | Fast Duel Sync Dist.Install
I'm installing a Fast duel sync distributor. How do I know if the distributor is set up at the 1 degree mark and also on the cap I have no black band around the #1 term. how do I find out what is the #1 term. on the cap if it has no black band around it. Also have the crank at 0 degress top dead center. I installed the distributor and with the car in the run position I can't get the cam light to come on when turning the distributor clockwise, but the crank light does come on when I turn the distributor clockwise. What is the problem?

The distributor comes setup for the 1 degree mark. If you look at the plate inside it shows that it is.
Personally, I don't check any of the LEDs or do anything different than I would with a distributor for a carb. Just go to TDC, drop it in and point the rotor where you want the #1 plug wire. Fire the engine, check timing with a timing light and adjust as needed. Check the cam sync on the dashboard. The instructions make it out to be way harder than it actually is.

Thanks for the help Brian. I ended up setting up the distrbutor both ways 1 degree and 50 degree and both set ups would not get my car started. I spoke to Sam at the Fast Tech line and he told me to set it up at the 50 degree reference. He told me to set the crank at 30 degrees before top dead center, drop the distributor in the #1 spark position and the car should start. Did all that and still would not start. I advanced the distributor and the car ended up back firing. So I turned the distributor counter clockwise and still would not start. What am I doing wrong? I need help!!!

go to the dashboard in the XFI view>dashboard and make sure you have cranking RPM first.
What tune did you select to get it started? Does it have all the parameters filled in correct?
I would start with your setup in bank to bank since that is what it was before, see if it starts there.
I would agree the 50 degree reference is the better way to go. Are you sure you have the plug wires put on right? The correct rotation too?

I do have cranking rpms and all the parameters are filled in correct. It is set up bank to bank. Sam at Fast told me to set the crank at 30 degrees and put the distributor in. Is that right? I don't have a 50 degree reference on my crank it only goes to 40. All the wires and firing order is correct. As for the tune I have the same tune that my tuner did with the TFI Distributor. The car ran with that tune but not well.

At 30 degrees and the rotor lined up on the car for #1 it should fire if the tune is right. Watch your actual A/F while you crank and see what it says. Fix your cranking fuel if needed. At 30 the distributor would be off 20 degrees but also should start and then you could time it.

Thanks Brian, I will try that on Friday seeing that's my only next day off. I'll post up how I made out.
