Default Help with Comp Cams phaser kit #5449
I own a 2005 mustang gt Vortech H.O. stock bottom end 4.6 3 valve with the Comp stage 4 cams with beehive springs, my question is, will the phaser kit #5449 work on my engine and if so will I need to remove the cams for the install, since I've already changed the springs on the heads? The engine also has American Racing headers long tubes. Car was dyno tuned with the SCT II tuner, made 518 RWHP, but the Torque was all over the map.I'm hoping the phaser kit will help with the the cams idle and performance(idle has to be set a little high for car to run at idle) I figure it will need re-tuned after the install. Yes or No?

Any info would be very appreciated.

Respectfully,

James Dyer

That's my problem i can't find any of my paper work on the cams. I purchased them through Tillman Speed back in early April 2008 along with American Racing Headers long tubes. And Doug Studard of Bama Chips let me use his cam removal tool.I also installed the GT 500 fuel pumpes, then Doug dyno tuned the car with an SCT II. At that time you all where producing stage 1,stage2, stage 3 and a stage 4 cams for the s197 mustangs.I'll look some more in the next couple of days, at one time I had the duration and lift numbers. Then I got the car home and it wasn't idleing good ,that is when I took it to Higgins Ford Performance for another dyno tune.( as in the copy of dyno above)

My car is a show car so it's not driven much, only has a little over 10,000 miles on it.
