Default Hoping for some help
Helo guys welcome from Australia. I have a t350 gearbox that i am going to turn into transbrake t350 using the TCI kit 321500. I have a few questions I know the direct clutch drum and the intermediate sprag are a big weak point in the t350 so i have taken steps to strengthen this area. I have noticed in a thread on this forum that TCI pins there direct clutch drum and the intermediate overrun clutch together would tig welding these two together make this alot stronger than pinning them. I am alsoworried about the 1-2 accumulator area does TCI make a billet replacement piston and cover as there will be alot of line pressure and im not sure if the stock parts will handle the pressure. Lastly alot of shift kits have different governer springs eg Transgo use a gold spring does the governer need the springs modified in this application or will the governer in stock form be ok. Thanks in adavance Steve

Steve,
The 321500 transbrake kit will no use a governor nor accumulators. As for the sprag the race spining or brake typicaly is not the issue there for we do not need to do anything stronger than what we so. Our 36 element sprag #327900 will hold up to 650-700hp with out any issues. Feel free to email, call, or post any other questions.

Thanks for the reply Russ. Does that mean that the governer and accumulator, spring and piston dont need to be installed at all and jsut the covers applied to both areas?
I have replaced the intermediate over run race with a SONAX brand race so that should be ok. I see in the thread on page 3 of this forum in regards to a direct clutch drum failure of part number 327900 that the direct clutch drum you guys manufacture has a complety different intermediate overrun clutch cam and intermediate overrun clutch or sprag. Go you guys sell these two parts seperatly as they are completely differEnt to what i have on my clutch drum i have a overun clutch cam that has ramps and the sprag to suiT. Any advice would be great

Steve

There will be no fluid flow to those areas. As for the sprag those parts are not sold separately. They need to be purchase as one unit. The previous thread you were looking at states that the sprag unit that broke was over 15 years old and was a changed to a much better design which is what we have been using now. A factory replacement sprag and race like you have will not last long much over 450-500hp.
