Thank goodness our trip from Springfield to DuQuoin, Illinois, was uneventful. There was no bad weather on the road this time, and it was a much shorter drive. The third Power Tour stop was at the DuQuoin Fairgrounds, which was actually used for horse racing in the past. But it made a perfect place to stop for Power Tour. Over 3,000 cars made their way through the fairgrounds, along with all of the vendors, including the COMP Performance Group™.
The CPG™ booth had prime real estate right next to the COMP Cams® main stage, where we held our daily adult big wheel races. These things get funnier and crazier by the day so make sure to stop by the booth at 3:00 every day during the tour to participate or to cheer on your favorite driver. The rules and course change every day, so you never know what you might see.
CPG™ also held another Kids’ Coloring Contest yesterday and awarded t-shirt and banner prizes from the main stage. All in all, it was another great day on the Power Tour, and we’re ready to move on to Bowling Green, Kentucky, where we’ll kick off the Engine Builder Duel sponsored by Snap-On Tools. Make sure to stop by the CPG™ booth at 3:30 on June 8, 9 and 10 to see teams take on the challenge of building a Small Block Chevy in the fastest amount of time.
With so many activities for all ages taking place, the COMP Performance Group™ booth is the place to be on the 2010 Power Tour. Stop by and say hi!
