That is probably a big part of it. I would tighten it up to 8/10. One thing to keep in mind is the lobe profile on this cam was not designed to have lash so you want to keep your lash setting very tight when putting Solid roller lifters on a Hyd. roller profile. The looser the lash the smaller it will make the cam act.

Thanks for the insight, I tightend it up last night, the lump came back. Would this work with solid lift cams? I asked an engine builder in the area and he sets his @ .004, what would the risks be with such a setting? I had emailed you some time back about changing cams and you had recommended part # 35-000-9 grind FW4309/4267R108 (351W Ford)can I purchase this through summit or through comp?

Jerry yes you can do it on a solid camshaft as well. It really just depends on the lobe profile as to how tight you can go with it. If you tighten the lash to much then you can loose a lot of bottom end and throttle response. You can order that camshaft direct through us or through Summit either one. It is a custom grind and direct through us it will typically take 3-5 business days to grind.
