Default lash caps
I got #611-16 valve locks with the parts I bought for my Comp Cams camshaft.

These have recesses for lash caps. Do they require to be used with lash caps, or is this optional? I'm using stainless steel valves and a XE282HR.

In what cases would the use of lash caps be recommended in general?

Thanks,

Simon

The lash caps are completely optional. They are not necessary for a hydraulic roller. Lash caps are mainly used in applications where the valve stem tip wil be abused all the time (dirt track, river racing, any maintained high rpm applications).

When in doubt, use more nitrous!
