 Pontiac Lifters
There are two types of Comp Hydraulic flat tappet lifters for Pontiac V8s (265-455)
The High Energy series is the standard Hydraulic lifter and part # 852-16 covers all V8s 265-455 including the 301.
The Pro Magnum series lifter is designed for more agressive profiles and higher rpm operation. The Pro Magnums have tighter internal tolerances that allow less bleed off of oil pressure internally which reduces the chance of lifter "Pump Up". Lifter "Pump Up" creates a loss of control of the valve at high RPM. The only trade off with the Pro Magnums is that they have more valvetrain noise than a High Energy lifter.
The Pro Magnum flat tappet hyd lifter for all Pontiac V8s 265-455 is 863-16
Part # 864 lifters are designed for the Pontiac 151 4 cyll.
