| | Lifter Question
I need some imformation on the CompCam Hydralic Flat Tappet Cam Kit. My engine is a 1969 Buick 350 engine and it is pure stock .Will the Lifters that come with the kit work in my engine with out blocking the oil passages to the shaft mounted rockers ?My push rods are not hollow . | |

Hi Mr. Amick , Im getting read to order the CompCam K92-203-4 kit and my 350 has 10.25:1 cr will it work okay ?

I would need more information on the setup to say for sure. With that kind of compression though and this small of a cam it could make a lot of cylinder pressure which might be a problem if this is going to be an iron head motor on pump gas.

The engine is a stock 350 4 barrel,dual exhaust, th400 with shift-kit ,mini spool,280hp@4600 rpm-375lbs torque@3200 rpm 10.25:1 c.r. bore3.800" 3.85 stroke.

With this setup the 268H cam will probably be a little small for the motor and may create to much cylinder pressure for you to get away with on pump gas with an iron head. We could custom grind you a cam though that would work just fine for you. I have included a part number and grind number below. It takes about 3-5 businees days typically for us to complete a custom grind cam. The only draw back here is that you will need a little more than a stock stall converter if that is all you have. It will need something in the 2000stall range.
Part # 92-000-5
Grind # 5443/5240H111+4
Duration @ .050 224/232
Lift w/1.55 rockers .493/.499
LSA 111 degrees

Mr. Amick, you had a custom cam design for me that I was thinking about ordering,but when I saw the thumpr 279kit #k92-600-5 I wan't to install that one if possible. Your Prt.# was92-000-5 grind#5443/5240 duration @.050 224/232 1.55 rockers .493/.499 .the thumpr is 279/297 grind-279th7 lsa 107* duration @ .050 227/241 .

Yes sir the Thumper cam would work for you. It will produce low vacuum is the only downside.

The cam I suggested would be much better on vacuum but not be as lopey as the Thumper camshaft.
