Default M. Parrett's Greatest Racing Story w/ the help of ZEX Nitrous
Intro: My name is Matthew Parrett from Fleetwood, PA. My vehicle is a 1981 Ford Mustang LX with a 1991 body & 100shot of nitrous.. At the time. My brother Jeffery, has a 2005 Dodge SRT-4 on 21 psi & 75shot of nitrous. This is my Greatest Racing Story Ever Told.
You can check out the race on Youtube:

I can still feel my heart pounding in my chest with excitement, the sweat running down my face from nervousness, & the outcome I played in my head over & over. A little sibling rivalry is more than just words to my brother Jeff & I. We are cut throat, die hard weekend drag racers at Maple Grove Raceway. We had many memorable races, but none as big as this, none against each other.

We tried all day to get in our lanes so it would be him & I going head to head, to finally see who would have the best drag car. After a couple of botched runs trying to dial in a new set of ET Streets & 100shot of nitrous by way of a ZEX Perimeter Plate I ran out of practice runs. My 1981 Gloss Black Ford Mustang LX Notch just wasn’t putting down the power. My brother layed down better times, one after the other. His 2005 Stone White Dodge SRT-4 was running 21psi of boost & an inferior Nitrous Works setup with a 75shot of squeeze.

Night time had fallen. We lined up in the staging lanes. Hands clamy and slippery on my B&M Pistol Grip shifter & steering wheel. Time for the burnout. Line-lock set, heat up the meats a bit, & ready to roll. My brother on street Hankooks mildly spun and coasted his boost-junkie Neon to the first AND second set of ambers. Very tough and non-courteous rivalry I must say. I was getting more nervous, each inch I krept to the ambers, not wanting to become a victim of the dream stealing red light on the leg of the tree.

Ambers were all lit, the tree counted down, I held the Stang @ 2,500rpm & waited for that precise moment… GREEN! As it did all day, out of the gates I spun like a bat out of hell. In a matter of feet I started dragging my brother down the track. Knowing his little juice surprise wouldn’t come until he hit 2nd gear, I had my eyes fixed on that rear view. Half way down the track & he got closer. He was hauling like crazy with his nitrous & narrowed it to the last little bit of 1320… Race over…

We rolled the rest of the track and proceeded to receive our time slips. I knew who had won, even without seeing the times… His little Neon car succumbed to the dreaded red light & his reaction had lost him the race. The nerve racking start, led to a great relief success story. To this day, I remind him always of the day I beat him at Maple Grove. Sibling rivalries are truly the best races. Thank you ZEX!
