Mutha Thumper Valve Adjustment

Just wanted to ask here about my valve adjustment issue before i fire this thing up. I installed a Mutha Thumper in my 460, new lifters, springs, at TDC, adjusted the valves listed in the Ford manual, rotated 180 degrees and adjusted valves, rotated 270 and adjusted remaining valves but had to rotate another 30 degrees to get the lifters to bottom on a couple. Anyone else had to do this? I'm ready to fire this up, but i'm puzzled why on a couple of valves i had to rotate past 270 degrees other than i know the exhaust valves have a late closing rate
