Hey there, Im running a Ford Racing 306 crate motor (part #x302) in my 89 Mustang Gt. The motor has 275 miles on it an the valvetrain is in my opinion excessively noisy. After talking to a Ford tech, he assured me the chatter is normal for a full roller motor but I am un-convinced. I talked to a buddy that runs comp valvetrain components in his car and has barely any noise. Mine is loud. Loud enough that you can hear it hammering over the sound of the exhaust. My question is this; if I were to change my lifters and rocker arms to Comp components, which part #s would I need and are there any other parts that will need to be replaced in order to do so? Any help would be greatly appreciated as the noise is driving me crazy. Thanks.
I would explore pushrod length first, but if you did want to try our parts, you would need the 851-16 lifters and that is all that is really required for the lifter change. As far as rocker arms, you can use our 1052-16 rockers on there as well, but those will more than likely require a different length pushrod.
