Default Noisy fuel pump
I just installed a ez-efi 30227 kit in a customers truck and found that after a few minutes of run time the fuel pump gets exteamly loud. Do i run it see if it fails or can i get a replacement pump?

They are loud. As long as you have consistent pressure you are ok.

Check your filters and make sure you don't have any resistance. The pumps are noisy but if it gets louder as it gets warmer, you probably have some sort of blockage that is causing resistance. A dirty filter will cause the pump to make more noise.

The fuel pressure can stay constant with a dirty filter, it's just hard on the pump/

Its the brand new filter that came with the pump i would say it has less than 1 hour of actual run time. Not that your wrong but if a pump that flows 60+ psi is shut down to 43 psi then isn't that like a filter restriction?

Similar but pressure is a constant whether it is blowing through a pin hole or a canyon..the pressure is the same at a given speed. It is the VOLUME that gets reduced therefore reducing the pressure. The pressure regulator bypasses fuel to lessen the pressure and vice-versa. In some cases the pump is controlled by changing the voltage to the pump--increasing it and decreasing it to maintain demand. This is how the return-less systems operate. This is done in place of an FPR in conventional systems.
When you start to dead-head a pump it is trying to maintain the volume so it starts to bog. They really don't get much noisier the frequency of the sound changes as it starts to spin slower. These gearotor pumps have a pretty good whine to them. It's the nature of the beast
