o2 meter wont record

my fast meter is not recording. when the record button is pressed .instead of the light on the screen flashing at a regular rate it flutters. i have the rpm pick up and have set the trigger point to 0 to eliminate that as a problem.it worked ok last year but on the cars 1st time out this year it didnt .i assume the problem is in the module and ill have to send it in. ive also had problems since ive installed it with consistency of the data and errattic readings. the rpm also reads way high or low depending on where its switched. im using the msd pickup. ive tried moving the sensors from the collectors to the primaries and numerous sensors. this is an open header bbc drag car. thanks

i was messing with it again today. i hit the recalibrate button until the right rpm was showing. its allways been 500 to 1000 rpm off but now its right on the money. it was stuck on 16000 when it wouldnt record. set the trigger rpm to 1500 to check it and the record works fine now. i hadnt touched anything to effect it when it didnt work but it had been sitting for months and i installed a new battery. i dont know but it seems fine. was just getting ready to send it in. good thing i wasnt waiting on a response from here
