Default O2 sensor code
Im with the other guy that just posted about his o2 ive made multiple calls and sent emails tryn to get tech support. Im not sure if this can help me but i was told to check for power on the o2 heater circuit heres all 6 wires in the o2 sensor connector while unplugged from the o2. My results were the yellow wire had 2.5v red 2.8v orange 12.81v white .51v black 2.93v green 2.88v. All these readings are key on engine off. I found I hard to decipher the wiring diagram for the o2 sensor so I'm unsure of what wire is used to heat the o2 but I can say that even after 15 minutes all the wires maintained the same voltage. I would also like to state again that as soon as the engine is started an o2 sensor code sets and even after warm I have to cycle the key to clear the code. Also when I cycle the key to reset the o2 sensor I find that I get a hard start and must crack the throttle to start but right after starting the code will clear and the o2 starts reading and continues to work until I let the vehicle sit for about half an hour or more. Thanks in advance for any help anyone could provide.

The O2 heater positive wire is the Orange wire. It should have battery voltage when the ignition is turned on.

In Live Data what does AF show when there is an O2 error? What does AF show when the O2 sensor is unplugged?

When the engine is at a warm idle what is the IAC value in Live Data?

What does your battery voltage in Live Data show compared to measuring voltage across the battery posts with a voltmeter?

The orange wire has 12.81 volts key on engine off and i waited 15 minutes or more and the wire still has 12 volts. With the o2 code still set the TAF pid stays constant and the AF pid stays constant at idle but fluctuates erratically if i rev the motor. The IAC pid stays right around 10 at an idle. Battery voltage on the handheld is about 13.2 and on a DVOM is about 13.5.
The part i cant get around is that when I start the car the o2 sits at zero and sets a code in under 30 seconds and i cannot clear the code. If i cycle the key off then back on very quick the o2 starts reading almost immediately and i can clear the code and it wont set again until the next time I start the car.

I guess he didn't have any problems getting into the tech line on a very busy Monday morning.
So i just checked to see what this guys progress was and i saw this. Im not tryng to be a d!ck and i do appreciate your help as a mater of fact i cannot fix the concern i have without your help because i have no pinpont test or pinout charts to follow for diagnostics. The reason i was wishing the guy good luck was because Thursday Friday and Monday I made multiple phone calls to get ahold of you and even left a few messages on your voicemail and no calls back.

I am not trying to make you mad or anything.

If you look at my posts they were all at or after 6pm which is when we close. The reason is because that is when I finally got some time to check and answer the forum.

I try to call as many people back in a day as I can. I also have emails, forum, and tech line to answer. I am sorry I couldn't get back to you. That is why we have these multiple forms of communication.

I am not crying or anything, because this is my job, and I love it.

Just please don't take it personally.

There are also 4 other guys that answer the tech line. I promise that if you hold on the tech line, you will get to talk to someone.

From post #2

I am looking for the actual numbers it is showing on page 3 of Live Data.

What type of distributor is on the engine? Do you have an ignition box?

We always have to go over the basics. Make sure the main Bat+ and Bat- go directly to the battery posts. No junction blocks, ground busses, fuse panels, giant welding cable, etc.

Run your hands down the EZ harness and make sure that no wires from the ignition system run alongside or touch the harness. The same goes for the alternator wire and possibly even electric fans or water pumps.

i have a gm hei, msd 6al box and pro billet hei distributor are being installed this weekend. the only place the plug wires are close to the fast harness its on the distributor but not touching. Both power and ground are hooked directly to battery. The AF pid shows 13.8-13.9 with and error plugged in and the AF pid goes to 14.6 when i unplug it. I have .8 volts varation between battery and handheld battery stays right at 13.89 handheld reads 13.0

Im not sure if this means anything but i just noticed when i have the O2 code and i shut off the key the O2 circle on page 1 gets a checkmark right before the handheld reads comm error. I thought maybe i was having a power problem out of the switch but i only have a .2 voltage drop accross the switch.

I am quite baffled.

I think it is RMA time.

Maybe there is something messed up in the ecu or O2 sensor.
