Default OBD II Code 1309 after Cam install
Hello,

Can anyone help me with an issue? I have installed an CompCams 265HR115 Cam in my 1999 3.8L Mustang. It runs beautifully and sounds awesome; however, I am getting an OBD II code of 1309 (Misfire Detection Monitor is not enabled). During rebuild and installation, I used the Cam position sensor tool ensuring the #1 piston was at TDC (intake stroke). Is this normal until I can get a tune on the car? Any responses would help. Thanks

Untill the car is tuned getting a code like this is not uncommon. As long as you are not hearing any major tick or knock I would not think you have anything to be concerned with at this point.
