Photo recap from the 2008 Hot Rod Pump Gas Drag presented by COMP Cams and the Beale Street Bash held in Memphis, TN on May 9-11, 2008. After two days of battling mother nature and the competition, Jim Plimpton of Franksville, Wisconsin was crowned the 2008 Pump Gas Drags champion by out-gunning Raymond Doughty's red Nova. Despite 300+ degree engine temps on the driving portion of the 5th annual HOT ROD Pump Gas Drags, Plimpton's powerplant held on to take the win with a 8.536-second e.t. at 163.06 mph in his supercharged, 572ci Ford-powered '89 Thunderbird.
