Default Powerglide switch to Turbo 350?
I am thinking of switching from a powerglide to a turbo 350.
Reasons; #1&2, 1 more gear will give me better 60ft, keep my power band from dropping so much after 1/2 shift, from a glide.
#3, Easy change over from glide, no modifications to chassis, drive shaft etc.
#4, We think we can pickup a tenth to a tenth and 1/2.
A few things I am not sure about, does 2 speed or 3 speed mean change converter or just freshen-up?
Is there a T350 made that can handle 1100hp N/A. Cost? What 1st and 2nd gear ratio's do they make.
I am very interested in your thoughts and opinions.

Car specs. 07 Pro Stock GTO, 2,200 lbs 535cin N/A, Traditional Pontiac motor, approx.1,038hp(last year) 1,100hp,this year(?) and 790tq, 456 rear gear, 33.5x17x16 bl tires & rims. Ran best ET; 1.04ft, 4.699 @ 147, 1/8, 7.361@184.57, 1/4.

Thanks Maurice.

Maurice,
A th350 would be out of the question for something like that the intermediate sprag would never hold up to the abuse of that car even fully built. A th400 built properly would give you the same performance as th350. I would recommend a th400 built with out 2.10 1st if you are looking to come out of the hole quicker. For more detail into this feel free to call me or email me.

Thanks

Russ
