V-Drive Clutch Logs 4000 Laps And Still Going Strong

Karl Fredrickson, editor of Speedway Illustrated & accomplished racer, has been running a Quarter Master® 5.5” V-Drive clutch in his 600-horsepower, 2600-pound modified car with 15"-wide tires. For over 4000 laps, it has performed flawlessly without a single slip. At 2000 laps, he opened the clutch up for inspection, but everything looked fine so he put it back together and ran another 2000 laps. Now, at over 4000 laps, the plates are still .100" thick.

Fredrickson attributes his success with the V-Drive clutch to its ultra-high quality parts, following instructions, using a winch to load and unload the car, and pulling the car out of gear to coast through the pits instead of slipping the clutch.
