Default Question on locking out the distributor
I am running a classic FAST system using a sequential configuration on a 2.3T Ford.

I am running into a problem trying to lock out the centrifugal advance in my MSD billet distributor. I am following the instructions from the PDF on the MSD site on page 4, but I am unable to remove the shaft & rotate it 180 degrees.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Going by the instructions the shaft should just pull out & rotate but it does not come out at all.

Well I figured out the problem was the spacer/sleeve below the reluctor wheel was stuck on the shaft (this is a new distributor that has been sitting for three years). Once it was pulled off there was a very tacky residue on the shaft & inside the spacer. Apparently that spacer should just slide right off.
