TCI brake back-up button/switch?

Hey guys, I have the TCI 221500 transbrake body going in a TH400. This valve body requires reverse to be used by going to neutral and pushing the brake button. I honestly can't see why its done this way but I assume there's a reason.

My question is, can I somehow wire in a toggle switch which will actuate the brake so I can have both hands available when backing up? I have a diagram from Dedenbear showing how to do this with a delay box but what about without a box?

Yes you can wire in a toggle switch into the solenoid circuit to achieve what you are asking. This is a fairly common deal.

I guess yet another switch will be needed to keep the 2 step from activating?

No, you don't need another switch. You wire in the toggle switch from 12V to the solenoid to control the brake. You aren't going to launch the car in reverse are you? Then you don't need to worry about the launch assist activating 3000 RPM or higher. It's not going to matter.
