Ashland, MS – The TCI® Mechanical Diode For Race Applications provides increased holding capacity and durability over traditional torque converter sprags.

Designed for extreme horsepower race applications, the TCI® Mechanical Diode is made from heat-treated and nitrided steel components and simultaneously uses seven elements to engage the outer race, increasing holding capability over traditional sprags that only use one or two. The elements are actuated by coil springs to ensure positive engagement. This gives the new Mechanical Diode 3.5 times greater holding capacity than traditional diodes, increasing durability and life over commonly used flat springs. Designed for extreme race applications, the TCI® Mechanical Diode is not available for individual purchase, but comes standard in all TCI® PRO-X™ Torque Converters. They are also available as optional upgrades in all TCI® converters or by having TCI® techs install into your existing converter
