Default Temperature
I have a EZ EFI on my BBChevy. I love it car runs great. Some fine tuning left. I have noticed since I put the system on the car it runs hotter (temp). I changed nothing except put EZ EFI on. I have a aluminum rad, aluminum water pump , fan shroud etc. Car with carb would run between 180-200 depending on driving condition and traffic. ( I live on long island alot of traffic). Since I put on system it runs 200-219 with a 180 tstat. Just wondering if I have another problem. Everything is fairly new. Thanks Tim

I Richened up on idle and cruise no change at all. Doesn't overheat just seems to like 200-206 area.
I might play with timing to see if it will help. I just get nervous when I see the 200 area especially in traffic on a hot humid NY night...

Richen it up to 12:1 and see if it runs any cooler. The EZ only controls fuel only so if the timing is the same then it shouldn't be any different. Check your timing curve though because it maybe a problem too.

Having read the above the efi system ain't causing the problem. Could be air lock in cooling coz you drained some to fit the temp sensor? Something like that

I thought of that. Sensor is lower than top of radiator. I have tried 3 differn't tstats. Drilled a small hole in one so It would bleed off any air. Car ran hotter with cooler thermostat. I have a 180 know. Alot of people dont know tah AC Delco makes a 170 tstat. Car ran hotter with that than 180. I might put a 190 and see what happens. I have a thermo gun (reads temps ) Everything is fine. radiator is working fine. I have march pulleys ( not underdrive) Aluminum water pump . Its getting cooler on Long Island so I will see what happens this fall. If not I will deal with it next summer. Thanks all !!!
