Default TH400 Transbrake operation question
I have a guy running a TH400 transbrake in a 4X4 mud raceing catergory.
He has the 221500 tranbrake valvebody.
This is a multipart question so please bare with me.

#1 what is the correct reversing procedure with this valvebody? Does it require the transbrake solenoid to be engaged for reverse? If so, should the detent be in reverse or natural?

#2 What is a the best practice for water/Mud proofong the solenoid that will not interfere with its operation?

#3 Will utilizing the transbrake in this appilication cause issues due to the immediate wheel spin upon release of the transbrake?
Should work be done to assist in a quiker release\exhaust of the reverse band to prevent burned band/directs due to the immediate wheel speed in this low traction appilication? If so how can this be accomplished with this style tranbrake.

Thanks,
Rick

Rick,

1. When in the neutral or reverse detent you will have to engage the trans brake for the reverse operation.

2. These solenoids are used in lots of mud and off road applications. The water will not kill the solenoid but the mud could stop if from operating properly a homemade shield and a good spray off after every weekend will work just fine.

3. The only modifications need for the trans brake valve body are the ones stated in the instructions. With a low traction application like yours it typically will due less harm to the trans than a normal application.
