Just installed a FAST dual sync distributor to run sequential with an XFI 2.05. How do I determine the cylinder number whose crank signal occurs directly after the cam signal. They suggest retarding the timing on each individual cylinder and using the timing light until you find the correct one. Does that entail marking the harmonic balancer around it's entire circumference for timing purposes? Marked the balancer and one at a time checked each cylinder on the laptop xfi program. Checked them all with a timing light. None of them had any timing change, so how do I pick the correct cylinder? TPS% was too low, able to identify correct cylinder by bringing throttle off idle.
