Im new to the thread here, so i dont know where to ask my question, i hope its ok for me to ask it here.... I have a 454 block with a 396 crank, forged 427 pistons, And a basically stock set of heads with a new set of stainless valves instaled, what would be the best cam to run in my motor as is? What would be the biggest cam i could get away with? I dont mind changing the valve springs out, but i really dont want to do any machine work to the heads. My machinist suggested a comp 11-05-3 which is for a 396 and has a lift of 485 ... what do you think? Also, I have a torker 2 manifold that id like to use, Im on a budget so im just hoping to get the most bang for the buck!
